Job Description

Are you eager to kick-start a hands-on career in the trades? Laser Plumbing & Electrical Tamworth is looking for a motivated and reliable Trades Assistant (Plumber’s Offsider) to join our growing team. This is a fantastic entry-level opportunity for someone with little to no experience who is keen to learn the plumbing trade from the ground up. You will work alongside experienced plumbers, assisting them with various tasks on residential, commercial, and industrial sites. If you’re physically fit, have a strong work ethic, and are ready to embrace a new challenge, we want to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist qualified plumbers with daily tasks on various job sites, including residential, commercial, and industrial projects.
  • Carry tools, materials, and equipment to and from work areas.
  • Prepare work sites by setting up equipment, ensuring safety, and organising materials.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of tools, equipment, and work vehicles.
  • Perform general site clean-up duties.
  • Learn and apply basic plumbing techniques under supervision.
  • Adhere to all workplace health and safety regulations and company policies.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and clients.
  • Be a proactive and positive member of the team.

Required Skills

  • Eagerness and willingness to learn a trade.
  • Strong work ethic and reliability.
  • Physical fitness and ability to lift heavy objects and perform manual labour.
  • Ability to follow instructions accurately.
  • Basic communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Current Australian Driver's License (essential for site travel).
  • Construction Induction White Card (or willingness to obtain one prior to commencement).
  • Previous experience in a similar manual labour role (advantageous but not essential).
