Job Description

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Trade Commission Assistant to join our International Relations team in Southport, Queensland. This role provides crucial support to our Trade Commissioners and Managers, contributing to initiatives that promote Australian trade and investment globally. You will be instrumental in conducting market research, assisting with event coordination, managing correspondence, and maintaining key stakeholder relationships. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive administrative support to Trade Commissioners and Managers.
  • Conduct market research and prepare concise reports on international trade opportunities and trends.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of trade missions, seminars, and other promotional events.
  • Manage incoming and outgoing correspondence, inquiries, and stakeholder communications.
  • Maintain and update client databases and CRM systems with accurate information.
  • Prepare presentations, briefs, and other documentation for internal and external meetings.
  • Facilitate logistical arrangements for international delegations and visitors.

Required Skills

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct thorough research and synthesize information.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Strong organizational skills with an ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree in International Relations, Business, Economics, or a related field.
  • Prior administrative experience in a government, trade, or international organization.
  • Familiarity with CRM software and database management.
  • Knowledge of the Australian export sector or key international markets.
  • Proficiency in an additional language relevant to Australia's trade partners.
