Job Description
Are you eager to kickstart your career in the building and construction industry? G.J. Gardner Homes Echuca is seeking a motivated and hardworking Tiler’s Offsider to join our growing team. This is a fantastic entry-level opportunity to learn the essential skills of waterproofing and tiling from experienced professionals. We’re looking for someone with a strong work ethic, a willingness to learn, and a commitment to safety and quality. If you’re physically fit, reliable, and ready to get your hands dirty, we want to hear from you. No prior experience is required – just a positive attitude and a desire to build a career in a skilled trade.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist qualified tilers with all aspects of tiling and waterproofing tasks.
- Prepare work areas, including cleaning, sweeping, and removing debris.
- Help with the mixing of glues, grouts, and waterproofing compounds.
- Transport materials and tools to and from the work site.
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment.
- Learn and apply safe work practices and procedures.
- Follow instructions diligently and contribute positively to the team.
- Assist with basic cutting and grinding of tiles under supervision.
- Protect finished surfaces and assist with site clean-up.
Required Skills
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Ability to follow instructions and learn quickly.
- Good physical fitness and ability to lift heavy materials.
- Positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team.
- Commitment to safety.
- Valid Australian Driver's License and reliable transportation.
Preferred Qualifications
- White Card (Construction Induction Card) – preferred, but can be obtained.
- Basic knowledge of hand tools.
- Previous labouring experience (any industry).
