Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Architectural Graduate (Intern) to join our dynamic design team in Greenway, ACT. This Junior Design Placement is an exceptional opportunity for an emerging architectural professional to gain hands-on experience across various project stages, from conceptual design through to documentation. You will work closely with experienced architects and designers, contributing to high-profile projects and developing your skills in a supportive and stimulating environment. This role is ideal for individuals looking to kickstart their architectural career and build a strong foundation in a leading firm.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior architects and project teams with conceptual design and schematic design presentations.
- Develop and prepare architectural drawings, models, and visualisations using CAD and BIM software.
- Conduct research on building codes, materials, and sustainable design practices.
- Prepare documentation for various project stages, including development applications and construction drawings.
- Participate in design reviews and team meetings, contributing ideas and feedback.
- Collaborate with consultants and other team members to ensure project coordination.
- Undertake administrative tasks and maintain project files as required.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign).
- Strong understanding of architectural principles and design processes.
- Excellent visual and graphic communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Enrolment in or recent completion of a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous internship or work experience in an architectural practice.
- Knowledge of 3D rendering software such as Rhino, SketchUp, or Enscape.
- Familiarity with Australian building codes and standards.
- A strong portfolio showcasing academic and personal design projects.
