Job Description

We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Product Sensor Analyst to join our quality assurance team at our Elizabeth, NJ facility. In this critical role, you will be responsible for the setup, calibration, maintenance, and analysis of various sensor technologies used in our food production lines. Your work will directly contribute to maintaining product quality, ensuring food safety, and optimizing manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, an understanding of food science principles, and a commitment to precision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, calibrate, and maintain a variety of sensory equipment and data acquisition systems on production lines.
  • Conduct routine tests and generate comprehensive reports on sensor performance and product quality data.
  • Analyze sensor data to identify trends, potential issues, and areas for process improvement.
  • Collaborate with R&D, Production, and Engineering teams to integrate new sensor technologies and troubleshoot existing systems.
  • Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for sensor operation and data analysis.
  • Train production staff on basic sensor operation and data interpretation.
  • Ensure all sensor activities comply with food safety regulations (e.g., HACCP, FDA) and internal quality standards.
  • Participate in root cause analysis for quality deviations related to sensor data.
  • Stay informed on the latest advancements in sensor technology and food industry best practices.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Engineering, or a related scientific field.
  • 3+ years of experience with sensor technology, data acquisition, and analysis in a manufacturing environment, preferably food.
  • Proficiency in data analysis software (e.g., Excel, R, Python, or specialized sensor software).
  • Strong understanding of statistical process control (SPC) and quality assurance principles.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and regulations (HACCP, GMP).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience with specific sensor types used in the food industry (e.g., NIR, hyperspectral imaging, pH, temperature, moisture sensors).
  • Familiarity with LIMS (Laboratory Information Management Systems).
  • Experience in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.
