Job Description
Are you a highly analytical and driven student looking to gain practical experience in supply chain management? Woolworths Group is offering an exciting internship opportunity for a Supply Planner Intern with a focus on Demand Forecasting. Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the collection, analysis, and interpretation of sales data to identify trends and patterns.
- Support the development and maintenance of demand forecasts for specific product categories.
- Collaborate with supply chain teams to understand inventory levels, lead times, and promotional impacts on demand.
- Utilize forecasting software and tools to generate and refine predictive models.
- Prepare reports and presentations on forecast accuracy, inventory performance, and potential supply risks.
- Participate in cross-functional meetings to discuss demand plans and align with business objectives.
- Conduct ad-hoc analysis to support strategic supply chain initiatives and problem-solving.
- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts within the demand planning process.
Required Skills
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Analytics, Economics, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to interpret complex data.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., VLOOKUP, pivot tables, formulas).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Proactive attitude with a strong eagerness to learn and contribute.
- Basic understanding of supply chain principles and forecasting concepts.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
- Familiarity with statistical software or programming languages (e.g., R, Python) for data analysis.
- Prior internship or project experience in a supply chain or analytical role.
- Knowledge of an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system or specific forecasting software.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
