Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Supply Planner to join our Global Distribution team in Sydney. In this critical role, you will be responsible for optimising the flow of goods from our suppliers, both domestic and international, through our distribution centres and into our stores across Australia and New Zealand. You will leverage advanced planning tools and collaborate closely with procurement, logistics, and store operations teams to ensure product availability, minimise inventory holding costs, and drive supply chain efficiency. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong analytical skills and a passion for continuous improvement in a fast-paced retail environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute supply plans to meet forecast demand, inventory targets, and service level agreements for assigned product categories.
  • Monitor and manage inventory levels across the distribution network, identifying and mitigating potential stock-outs or overstock situations.
  • Collaborate with international suppliers and freight forwarders to ensure timely and cost-effective inbound logistics.
  • Analyse supply chain performance metrics, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions.
  • Work cross-functionally with Demand Planning, Procurement, Warehousing, and Transport teams to align supply chain activities.
  • Manage supplier relationships regarding delivery schedules, lead times, and order quantities.
  • Participate in S&OP processes, providing insights on supply capabilities and constraints.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency gains within the supply chain.

Required Skills

  • 3+ years of experience in supply chain planning, inventory management, or logistics, preferably in a retail or FMCG environment.
  • Proven experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced planning systems.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data visualisation tools.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, complex environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with global sourcing and international logistics.
  • Knowledge of Lean or Six Sigma methodologies in a supply chain context.
  • Postgraduate qualification in Supply Chain or Business.
  • Experience with a major retailer or grocery chain.
