Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Statistics Officer with a strong focus on data collection to join our remote team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in gathering vital statistical data that informs national policies and research. This is a work-from-home position, requiring excellent organizational skills and the ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment. You will be responsible for implementing data collection methodologies, interacting with respondents, and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of collected information.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct data collection activities according to established ABS methodologies and guidelines.
- Liaise with businesses and households to collect accurate and timely statistical information.
- Maintain high standards of data quality, completeness, and confidentiality.
- Assist in the preparation and review of data collection instruments and procedures.
- Respond to inquiries from data providers and internal stakeholders.
- Utilize ABS's secure data collection systems and tools.
- Identify and escalate data quality issues or potential non-compliance.
- Participate in training and development programs to enhance data collection skills.
Required Skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote setting.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
