Job Description

Elders Ltd is offering a unique opportunity for an enthusiastic and dedicated individual to join our team as a Trainee Station Hand in the Geelong region. This entry-level position is perfect for someone with little to no prior experience, providing comprehensive on-the-job training in all facets of station management and livestock care. You will learn practical skills from experienced professionals, contributing to daily operations and developing a strong foundation for a long-term career in agribusiness.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with daily livestock handling, including cattle and sheep mustering, feeding, and welfare checks.
- Learn and perform basic animal health treatments and vaccinations under supervision.
- Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment, such as tractors, quad bikes, and vehicles.
- Participate in fencing repairs and construction, ensuring property boundaries and paddocks are secure.
- Undertake general property maintenance, including irrigation systems, water points, and infrastructure upkeep.
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.
- Contribute to team efforts, communicating effectively with senior staff and fellow trainees.
- Demonstrate a proactive approach to learning and skill development in all assigned tasks.

- Physical fitness and ability to perform demanding tasks in various weather conditions.

Preferred Qualifications
- Current Australian Driver's License (manual transmission preferred).
- Basic mechanical aptitude or willingness to learn vehicle and machinery maintenance.
- First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Any prior experience with animals, even pets or hobby farming, is a plus.
