Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and resilient individual to join our State Emergency Service (SES) Support team in Katherine, NT. This is an ongoing full-time position focused on providing crucial support for public safety operations within the region. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth functioning of SES activities, contributing directly to community safety and emergency preparedness. This role involves administrative tasks, logistical coordination, and direct support to SES volunteers and staff during both routine operations and emergency activations. Key Responsibilities
- Provide administrative and logistical support to SES volunteers and staff.
- Assist with the coordination of training programs and community engagement events.
- Manage and maintain SES equipment, inventory, and facilities.
- Operate communications equipment during emergency activations.
- Process documentation, reports, and records accurately and efficiently.
- Support incident management teams during emergency response and recovery operations.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including other emergency services and community groups.
- Ensure compliance with all safety protocols and departmental procedures.
Required Skills
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Demonstrated ability to remain calm and effective under pressure.
- Valid Australian Driver's License.
- Australian Citizenship or permanent residency.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in an administrative or support role, particularly within emergency services or a similar public safety sector.
- Knowledge of local geography and community dynamics within the Katherine region.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Experience with radio communications systems.
