Job Description
We are seeking highly motivated and reliable Silo Labourers for seasonal grain work at our Wyong facility. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain experience in the agricultural industry with a leading company, offering competitive high pay for dedicated individuals. As a Silo Labourer, you will be involved in all aspects of grain handling during the harvest season, ensuring efficient and safe operations. This role is physically demanding and requires a strong work ethic, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Previous experience is not required, as full training will be provided to successful candidates.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the receival, storage, and dispatch of grain
- Operate and monitor grain handling equipment, including augers, conveyors, and front-end loaders (training provided)
- Perform general site maintenance, including cleaning silos, sheds, and surrounding areas
- Conduct daily inspections of equipment and report any faults or issues
- Adhere strictly to all safety policies and procedures, including confined space entry protocols
- Work effectively as part of a team to achieve daily operational targets
- Assist with sampling and quality testing of grain
- Maintain accurate records of grain movements and storage
Required Skills
- Strong commitment to safety procedures and practices
- Ability to work in a physically demanding outdoor environment, including lifting, climbing, and working at heights
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and extended shifts during peak season
- Effective communication and teamwork skills
- Capacity to follow instructions and learn new processes quickly
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in agriculture, warehousing, or heavy industry
- Forklift license (LF class)
- Basic mechanical aptitude
- Current driver's license and reliable transport
