Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and licensed Security Technician specializing in alarm systems to join our team in Bairnsdale. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of various alarm systems, access control, and CCTV systems for our diverse client base. This role requires strong technical expertise, excellent customer service skills, and a commitment to upholding the highest security standards. You will be an integral part of ensuring the safety and peace of mind for our clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and repair security alarm systems, access control systems, and CCTV systems.
  • Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on existing security infrastructure.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose technical issues with security equipment and wiring.
  • Program and configure security systems according to client specifications and industry standards.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, including on-site client training and support.
  • Complete accurate documentation for all service calls, installations, and maintenance activities.
  • Adhere to all relevant safety regulations, company policies, and licensing requirements.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation for emergency service requests as needed.

Required Skills

  • Current Security Licence (Victoria, Class 2 or equivalent).
  • Proven experience with installation and servicing of various alarm systems (e.g., Bosch, Hikvision, Inner Range).
  • Strong understanding of electronics, electrical wiring, and network infrastructure.
  • Valid Australian Driver's Licence.
  • Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant TAFE or vocational qualifications in electronics, security technology, or a related field.
  • Experience with IP-based security systems and networking.
  • Knowledge of Australian Standards for security installations.
  • First Aid certification.
