Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and physically fit Sandblasting Labourer to join our industrial services team in Campbelltown. This role is essential for preparing various surfaces by removing rust, paint, and other contaminants using sandblasting techniques. You will work within a fast-paced industrial environment, contributing to critical maintenance and preparation projects. We offer consistent work, a safe environment, and weekly pay. Key Responsibilities
- Operate sandblasting equipment to clean and prepare various surfaces (metal, concrete, etc.) according to specifications.
- Ensure proper setup, calibration, and maintenance of sandblasting equipment, including hoses, nozzles, and compressors.
- Handle and mix abrasive materials safely and efficiently.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) such as respirators, suits, and gloves.
- Inspect work for quality and completeness, ensuring surfaces are ready for subsequent treatments (e.g., painting).
- Perform general labouring duties, including material handling, site cleanup, and equipment maintenance.
- Assist other team members as required to complete projects on time and to standard.
- Report any equipment malfunctions, safety hazards, or quality issues to the supervisor immediately.
Required Skills
- Physical fitness and ability to perform strenuous tasks, including lifting heavy objects and working in confined spaces.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Basic understanding of industrial safety procedures.
- Must possess a valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a similar industrial or construction labourer role.
- Experience with sandblasting or abrasive blasting techniques.
- Current White Card (Construction Induction Card).
- Forklift license (LF).
