Job Description

We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Risk Management Assistant to join our dynamic team in Blacktown. This entry-level role is an excellent opportunity for an individual passionate about risk management and eager to build a career in the insurance industry. The successful candidate will support the Risk Management department in identifying, assessing, and mitigating operational and financial risks, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies. You will play a crucial role in maintaining our robust risk framework and contributing to the overall stability and success of Allianz Australia.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the identification, assessment, and monitoring of risks across various business units.
  • Support the preparation of risk reports and presentations for management and stakeholders.
  • Maintain and update risk registers, ensuring accuracy and completeness of data.
  • Conduct research and analysis on emerging risks, regulatory changes, and industry best practices.
  • Facilitate risk workshops and training sessions under the guidance of senior risk professionals.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to gather relevant information for risk assessments.
  • Contribute to the development and enhancement of risk management policies and procedures.
  • Provide administrative support to the Risk Management team as required.

Required Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Risk Management, or a related field.
  • Previous internship or work experience in finance, insurance, or a risk-related role.
  • Understanding of regulatory frameworks relevant to the insurance industry (e.g., APRA, ASIC).
  • Familiarity with risk management software or systems.
