Job Description
We are seeking a meticulous and dedicated Remote Spreadsheet Auditor to join our finance and operations team. This is a crucial role focused on ensuring the highest level of accuracy and integrity within our financial spreadsheets and data systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for meticulously reviewing, auditing, and validating complex financial data, identifying discrepancies, and recommending improvements to enhance data quality and compliance. This position is 100% remote, offering flexibility while maintaining high standards of accountability and performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive audits of financial spreadsheets, reports, and data sets to identify errors, inconsistencies, and compliance issues.
- Verify the accuracy of financial calculations, formulas, and data entries across various departmental spreadsheets.
- Develop and implement robust auditing procedures and best practices to improve data integrity and efficiency.
- Collaborate closely with finance, accounting, and operational teams to understand data sources, processes, and reporting requirements.
- Document audit findings, root causes of errors, and provide clear, actionable recommendations for corrective actions and process improvements.
- Ensure all spreadsheet models and financial data comply with internal policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Provide training and guidance to team members on best practices for spreadsheet management and data accuracy.
- Contribute to the development and enhancement of automated tools and methodologies for auditing processes.
Required Skills
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including complex formulas, pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and data validation techniques.
- Proven experience in data auditing, quality assurance, or financial analysis with a strong emphasis on accuracy.
- Solid understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and data governance.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities with a keen eye for detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to articulate complex findings and recommendations clearly.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a 100% remote work environment.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple auditing tasks simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Experience with financial management systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) or dedicated auditing software.
- Familiarity with financial regulations and compliance standards within the banking or financial services industry.
- Certification in relevant areas (e.g., Certified Internal Auditor – CIA, or similar).
