Job Description

We are seeking a diligent and experienced Regulatory Compliance Officer with a specialisation in Consumer Affairs to join our dynamic team in Joondalup. This role is crucial in ensuring ANZ Bank adheres to all relevant consumer protection laws, regulations, and internal policies. You will be instrumental in safeguarding our customers’ interests while supporting the bank’s operational objectives. This is an on-site position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and interpret new and existing consumer protection laws and regulations (e.g., ASIC Act, NCCP Act, Banking Code of Practice).
  • Advise business units on compliance requirements related to consumer products and services.
  • Develop, implement, and review compliance policies and procedures to ensure alignment with regulatory standards.
  • Conduct regular compliance reviews and audits, identifying potential risks and recommending corrective actions.
  • Investigate and resolve consumer compliance issues, complaints, and breaches.
  • Prepare comprehensive compliance reports for senior management and regulatory bodies.
  • Provide training and guidance to employees on consumer compliance best practices.
  • Collaborate with legal, risk, and internal audit teams to ensure a cohesive compliance framework.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Law, Finance, Business, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in regulatory compliance, specifically within consumer affairs in the financial services sector.
  • In-depth knowledge of Australian consumer protection legislation (e.g., ASIC Act, NCCP Act) and relevant industry codes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of influencing stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to interpret complex regulations and translate them into practical business advice.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Postgraduate qualification in Law or Compliance.
  • Certification in Compliance (e.g., GRC, ACAMS).
  • Experience with compliance management software and tools.
  • Proven track record of managing regulatory relationships.
