Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Poultry Hatcher Assistant to join our team in Osborne Park, Western Australia. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to start a career in the agricultural sector, specifically within poultry farming. No prior experience is required, as full training will be provided to ensure you are confident and competent in all aspects of the role. You will be working in a rural environment, contributing to the crucial initial stages of poultry production, ensuring the health and well-being of our newly hatched chicks. This role requires commitment, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn and work as part of a close-knit team.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the setting of eggs into incubators following strict hygiene protocols.
- Monitor incubator conditions, including temperature and humidity.
- Support the hatching process, ensuring a smooth and efficient operation.
- Handle day-old chicks with care, including sorting, counting, and preparing for transport.
- Perform routine cleaning and sanitation of hatchery equipment and facilities.
- Maintain accurate records of egg setting, hatching rates, and chick dispatch.
- Adhere to all animal welfare guidelines and biosecurity procedures.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or issues to senior staff.
- Participate in ongoing training and development programs.
