Job Description

Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior estimators in preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for construction projects.
- Review project drawings, specifications, and other tender documents to understand scope and requirements.
- Support the quantity take-off process for various trades and materials.
- Organize and maintain estimating documentation, including databases and spreadsheets.
- Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain quotes for materials and services.
- Participate in tender review meetings and contribute insights.
- Learn and apply estimating software and tools under guidance.
- Assist in the preparation of bid submissions and proposals.
- Conduct site visits as required to gather information for estimates.
Required Skills
- Strong numerical and mathematical skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- High level of motivation and willingness to learn.
- Basic understanding of construction principles or trades is advantageous.
Preferred Qualifications
- A-Levels or equivalent qualifications, particularly in Maths, Science, or relevant vocational subjects.
- Enrolment in or completion of a relevant BTEC, HNC, or similar technical course.
- Basic knowledge of CAD software.
- Prior work experience, even if unrelated, demonstrating strong work ethic and reliability.
