Job Description

Are you looking for an opportunity to start a career in agriculture with a leading company? Ingham’s is seeking a dedicated and reliable Poultry Farm Hand for our indoor poultry operations in Gladstone, Queensland. This entry-level position requires no prior experience, as full training will be provided. This role primarily involves indoor tasks related to the care and management of poultry, ensuring a safe and productive environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Feeding poultry according to established schedules and procedures.
  • Monitoring bird health and welfare, reporting any issues to supervisors.
  • Cleaning and sanitising poultry housing, equipment, and facilities.
  • Collecting eggs and preparing them for transport.
  • Performing routine maintenance tasks on farm equipment and infrastructure.
  • Maintaining accurate records of feed consumption, production, and other farm data.
  • Adhering to all biosecurity, health, and safety protocols.
  • Assisting with the movement and handling of poultry as required.

Required Skills

  • Reliability and punctuality.
  • Ability to follow instructions meticulously.
  • Comfortable working in a farm environment, including dusty or odorous conditions.
  • Physical fitness and ability to lift up to 20kg.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks.
  • Strong commitment to animal welfare and safety procedures.
