Job Description
Are you looking for an opportunity to start a career in agriculture with a leading company? Ingham’s is seeking a dedicated and reliable Poultry Farm Hand for our indoor poultry operations in Gladstone, Queensland. This entry-level position requires no prior experience, as full training will be provided. If you have a strong work ethic, are comfortable working in a farm environment, and are eager to learn, we encourage you to apply. This role primarily involves indoor tasks related to the care and management of poultry, ensuring a safe and productive environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Feeding poultry according to established schedules and procedures.
- Monitoring bird health and welfare, reporting any issues to supervisors.
- Cleaning and sanitising poultry housing, equipment, and facilities.
- Collecting eggs and preparing them for transport.
- Performing routine maintenance tasks on farm equipment and infrastructure.
- Maintaining accurate records of feed consumption, production, and other farm data.
- Adhering to all biosecurity, health, and safety protocols.
- Assisting with the movement and handling of poultry as required.
Required Skills
- Reliability and punctuality.
- Ability to follow instructions meticulously.
- Comfortable working in a farm environment, including dusty or odorous conditions.
- Physical fitness and ability to lift up to 20kg.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks.
- Strong commitment to animal welfare and safety procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
- Current driver's license and reliable transport.
- Prior experience working in a team environment.
