Job Description
Are you looking for a dynamic, active, and rewarding casual role this seasonal period? Australia Post is seeking enthusiastic and reliable Postie Assistants to join our team in Mawson Lakes. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who enjoy working outdoors, staying active, and contributing to their local community. As a Postie Assistant, you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring timely and efficient delivery of mail and parcels, helping us keep Australia connected during our busiest times. This casual seasonal position offers competitive ‘high pay’ rates for your dedication and effort.
Key Responsibilities
- Sort and prepare mail and parcels for delivery in an efficient manner.
- Deliver mail and parcels to residential and business addresses within assigned routes.
- Operate delivery vehicles (bikes, scooters, or small vans) safely and responsibly.
- Maintain high standards of customer service and professionalism.
- Adhere to all safety procedures and traffic regulations.
- Manage delivery schedules to ensure timely completion of routes.
- Assist with other general duties at the delivery centre as required.
Required Skills
- Valid Australian driver's license (car, motorbike, or scooter license depending on role).
- Ability to operate a scooter or bicycle, or willingness to learn.
- Good physical fitness and ability to lift and carry parcels up to 16kg.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong reliability and punctuality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a delivery or customer service role.
- Local area knowledge of Mawson Lakes and surrounding suburbs.
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment.
- Comfortable with early morning starts.
