Job Description
Auspec is seeking a motivated and reliable Plasterer’s Assistant to join our dedicated team in Parramatta. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking for ongoing, stable work with weekly pay in the construction industry. As a Plasterer’s Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our skilled plasterers, ensuring projects are completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards. We value hard work, a keen eye for detail, and a willingness to learn and contribute to a positive team environment. Full training will be provided, making this an ideal role for someone looking to start or further their career in plastering.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist qualified plasterers with daily tasks on various construction sites.
- Prepare work areas, including setting up scaffolding, laying drop sheets, and protecting surfaces.
- Mix plaster, compounds, and other materials accurately according to specifications.
- Load, unload, and move materials and equipment around the site.
- Clean and maintain tools, equipment, and work areas to ensure safety and efficiency.
- Perform basic surface preparation, including sanding, scraping, and filling minor imperfections.
- Adhere to all site safety regulations and company policies.
- Support general site duties as required by the site supervisor or plasterer.
Required Skills
- Physical fitness and ability to perform manual labour.
- A strong work ethic and a proactive attitude.
- Reliability and punctuality are essential.
- Willingness to learn new skills and follow instructions.
- Basic understanding of workplace safety.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Current White Card (Construction Induction Card) is highly regarded.
- Previous experience in a construction environment or similar trade assistant role.
- Valid Australian Driver's License and reliable transport.
- Basic knowledge of plastering tools and techniques.
