Job Description
We are seeking enthusiastic and reliable individuals to join our team as a Nursery Potting Assistant for casual day work in our Whyalla garden centre. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working outdoors, has a keen interest in plants, and is looking for flexible hours. As a key member of our garden team, you will assist with various tasks to ensure our plants are healthy, well-presented, and ready for our customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Potting and repotting a variety of plants, seedlings, and saplings.
- Assisting with the movement and organization of plant stock within the nursery.
- Watering and general care of plants to maintain health and quality.
- Preparing plants for display and sale, including cleaning pots and pruning.
- Maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
- Following all safety guidelines and procedures.
Required Skills
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Good communication skills and a team-player attitude.
- Attention to detail and a passion for plant care.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a nursery, horticulture, or gardening environment.
- Basic knowledge of plant care and identification.
- Current driver's license.
