Job Description

Join Australia Post as a Morning Sorter and play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient flow of mail and parcels through our Geelong facility. This part-time position offers a consistent morning roster, ideal for individuals seeking stable work hours in a dynamic environment. You will be responsible for quickly and accurately sorting incoming mail and packages, preparing them for dispatch, and contributing to the overall operational success of our sorting centre. Key Responsibilities

  • Sort incoming mail and parcels accurately and efficiently according to destination codes and established procedures.
  • Load and unload mail sacks, trays, and parcels from vehicles and conveyor belts.
  • Operate manual and automated sorting equipment safely and effectively.
  • Maintain a clean and organised work area.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies.
  • Collaborate with team members to achieve daily sorting targets.
  • Identify and report any damaged or misdirected mail items.

Required Skills

  • Ability to read and understand sorting instructions and labels accurately.
  • Good physical fitness, including the ability to lift and carry up to 16kg repeatedly.
  • Reliability and punctuality for early morning shifts.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Basic communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a warehousing, logistics, or sorting environment.
  • Experience with manual handling equipment (e.g., pallet jacks).
  • Current driver's license.
