Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable individual to join our team as a Morning Maintenance operative on a part-time roster. In this essential role, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and pristine condition of our facilities during the crucial morning hours. This position involves performing routine checks, minor repairs, and preventative maintenance tasks to uphold our high standards of guest satisfaction and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem-solver with a strong attention to detail and a commitment to providing a safe and comfortable environment for our guests and staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct daily visual inspections of the property, including guest areas, back-of-house, and exterior grounds, identifying and reporting any maintenance issues.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance tasks, such as checking light fixtures, plumbing, HVAC systems, and electrical outlets.
- Execute minor repairs, including fixing leaky faucets, changing light bulbs, patching drywall, and addressing basic carpentry needs.
- Assist with the setup and breakdown of meeting rooms or event spaces, ensuring all equipment is functional.
- Respond promptly and efficiently to maintenance requests from guests and staff, prioritizing urgent issues.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the maintenance workshop and storage areas.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Document all maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections accurately.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure a seamless guest experience.
Required Skills
- Basic knowledge of general maintenance, including plumbing, electrical, and carpentry.
- Ability to operate basic hand and power tools safely.
- Strong attention to detail and observational skills.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills.
- Physical stamina to perform manual tasks, lift moderate weights, and stand/walk for extended periods.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a hotel or facilities maintenance role.
- Vocational training or certification in a relevant trade (e.g., plumbing, electrical).
- Familiarity with safety procedures and emergency protocols.
- Basic proficiency in French or Arabic (local languages).
