Job Description
Jumia is seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented E-commerce Data Specialist to join our dynamic team in Salé. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in tracking sales performance, identifying key market trends, and providing actionable insights that drive our strategic decision-making and operational excellence. You will work with large datasets, employing advanced analytical techniques to uncover opportunities and risks within our vast e-commerce ecosystem. This position requires a proactive individual who can transform raw data into compelling narratives and recommendations for various stakeholders across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect, clean, and analyze large datasets related to e-commerce sales, customer behavior, and market trends.
- Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to visualize key performance indicators (KPIs) and track business performance.
- Identify emerging sales trends, customer preferences, and competitive landscapes to inform product, pricing, and marketing strategies.
- Perform ad-hoc analysis to support various departments (marketing, category management, operations) with data-driven insights.
- Collaborate with technical teams to ensure data accuracy, integrity, and accessibility across all platforms.
- Propose and implement improvements to data collection, analysis, and reporting processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders and leadership in a clear, concise, and impactful manner.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in SQL for data extraction and manipulation.
- Strong experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, complex formulas, data modeling).
- Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities with a keen eye for detail.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of explaining complex data to non-technical audiences.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a fast-paced, cross-functional team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Analytics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field.
- Experience with Python or R for statistical analysis and data manipulation.
- Familiarity with Google Analytics or other web analytics platforms.
- Previous experience in the e-commerce or retail industry, specifically with sales and trend analysis.
- Knowledge of A/B testing methodologies and experiment design.
- Understanding of database management principles.
