Job Description
We are seeking a proactive and customer-focused Merchant Services Consultant to join our Bairnsdale team. In this role, you will be instrumental in supporting our business customers with their payment solutions, including EFTPOS, online payments, and other merchant facilities. You will be responsible for providing expert advice, resolving technical and service inquiries, and identifying opportunities to enhance our customers’ payment experiences. Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert consultation and support to business customers on Commonwealth Bank's merchant services products and solutions.
- Onboard new merchant customers, ensuring a smooth setup and integration process.
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to EFTPOS terminals and other payment systems.
- Proactively identify customer needs and cross-sell appropriate banking products and services.
- Conduct regular check-ins with existing merchant customers to ensure satisfaction and identify areas for improvement.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, payment technologies, and competitor offerings.
- Maintain accurate customer records and service logs in line with bank policies and compliance requirements.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including sales, operations, and IT, to deliver seamless customer experiences.
Required Skills
- Minimum 3 years of experience in merchant services, banking, or a related financial services role.
- Proven track record in customer service and client relationship management.
- Strong understanding of EFTPOS terminals, payment gateways, and merchant acquiring processes.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues effectively.
- Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Preferred Qualifications
- Tertiary qualification in Business, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience with CRM software and banking systems.
- Previous experience working in a branch or regional banking environment.
- Knowledge of Australian payment regulations and compliance standards.
