Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Science Intern to join our Lab & Research team in Rockingham, WA. This full-time internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a cutting-edge biotechnology environment. You will support our scientists and researchers in various laboratory activities, contributing to real-world projects that impact global health. This role is ideal for students or recent graduates looking to apply their academic knowledge in a professional research setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior researchers and scientists with experimental setup and execution.
- Prepare samples, reagents, and media following established protocols.
- Collect, record, and organize experimental data accurately and efficiently.
- Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure a clean and organized work environment.
- Perform basic data analysis and contribute to report preparation.
- Adhere strictly to laboratory safety standards and quality control procedures.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to scientific discussions.
- Support inventory management of laboratory supplies and chemicals.
Required Skills
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline (e.g., Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biomedical Science).
- Basic understanding of laboratory techniques and safety protocols.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data recording.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to follow instructions precisely and work independently as well as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior hands-on experience in a university or industry laboratory setting (academic projects welcome).
- Familiarity with Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) principles.
- Basic knowledge of data analysis software or statistical tools.
