Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Humanitarian Aid Worker to join our dynamic team. This global role is critical for responding to complex emergencies and delivering effective aid programs in challenging environments. The successful candidate will be deployed internationally to crisis zones, playing a pivotal role in program design, implementation, and evaluation, ensuring that our interventions are impactful, accountable, and aligned with humanitarian principles. This position requires resilience, cultural sensitivity, strong leadership, and a deep commitment to humanitarian values.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and participate in rapid needs assessments in emergency contexts to identify critical gaps and inform program design.
  • Design, implement, and monitor humanitarian assistance programs, including food security, WASH, health, protection, and livelihoods, ensuring adherence to international standards (e.g., Sphere, CHS).
  • Manage project budgets, resources, and timelines effectively, ensuring financial accountability and timely delivery of outcomes.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with local communities, government authorities, UN agencies, and other NGOs.
  • Recruit, train, and supervise local staff and volunteers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
  • Ensure robust data collection, analysis, and reporting for all program activities, providing regular updates to stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement robust security protocols and risk management strategies for field operations.
  • Advocate for the rights and needs of affected populations, particularly children, at local, national, and international forums.
  • Contribute to fundraising efforts by developing compelling proposals and donor reports.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in humanitarian aid, emergency response, or international development.
  • Proven experience in program management, including design, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in complex, high-stress, and culturally diverse environments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken).
  • Bachelor's degree in International Relations, Development Studies, Public Health, Social Sciences, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Willingness to travel extensively and deploy to challenging field locations for extended periods.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a relevant field.
  • Proficiency in a second language relevant to humanitarian operations (e.g., Arabic, French, Spanish).
  • Experience in specific sectors such as WASH, Nutrition, Protection, or Food Security.
  • Certification in Sphere Standards, Humanitarian Leadership, or relevant security training.
  • Prior experience working with World Vision or other major international NGOs.
