Job Description
Are you looking to kickstart your career in public health and make a real difference? Mount Gambier Hospital is seeking enthusiastic and compassionate individuals to join our team as an Entry-Level Hospital Orderly. This full-time position offers weekly pay and an invaluable opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic healthcare setting. No prior experience is required as comprehensive training will be provided. As an Orderly, you will play a crucial role in supporting the medical and nursing staff, ensuring a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for patients. Your contribution will be essential to the smooth operation of our hospital and the wellbeing of our community.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the safe and respectful transfer and positioning of patients within the hospital.
- Transport patients, specimens, equipment, and medical records between departments.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of patient areas, equipment, and common spaces, adhering to strict infection control protocols.
- Prepare and set up rooms for admissions, discharges, and specific medical procedures.
- Assist nursing staff with basic patient care tasks as directed, always maintaining patient dignity and privacy.
- Respond promptly to requests from medical and nursing staff.
- Replenish supplies and manage linen in various hospital departments.
- Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and WHS guidelines.

Preferred Qualifications
- Current First Aid Certificate.
