Job Description
Join Cleanaway as a Green Waste Processor in our Townsville facility. This vital role involves sorting, processing, and preparing green waste materials for composting and recycling. You will operate various types of equipment, ensuring efficient and safe handling of organic waste while adhering to strict environmental and safety regulations. If you’re physically fit, detail-oriented, and passionate about environmental sustainability, this is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a greener Townsville.
Key Responsibilities
- Sort and separate green waste materials (e.g., branches, leaves, grass clippings) from other contaminants.
- Operate processing equipment such as shredders, chippers, and compactors safely and efficiently.
- Monitor equipment for proper functioning and report any malfunctions or maintenance needs.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the processing area.
- Follow all safety protocols and environmental regulations.
- Assist with loading and unloading materials as required.
- Conduct quality checks on processed materials to ensure compliance with standards.
Required Skills
- Physical fitness and ability to lift heavy objects and perform repetitive tasks.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify different types of waste materials.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Basic understanding of safety procedures in an industrial setting.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
Preferred Qualifications
