Job Description

We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Government Fleet Support – Vehicle Fleet Admin to join our team in Port Augusta. This role is crucial in ensuring the efficient and compliant operation of a diverse government vehicle fleet. You will be responsible for a wide range of administrative tasks, from scheduling maintenance and managing vehicle records to supporting procurement processes and ensuring adherence to regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong administrative skills, a proactive approach, and a commitment to accuracy, playing a vital role in keeping essential government services moving.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain accurate vehicle fleet records, including registration, maintenance history, and usage logs.
  • Coordinate and schedule vehicle servicing, repairs, and inspections with internal teams and external vendors.
  • Process invoices, purchase orders, and expense reports related to fleet operations.
  • Assist with vehicle allocation, transfers, and disposals, ensuring all necessary documentation is completed.
  • Monitor fleet compliance with relevant government regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
  • Generate regular reports on fleet performance, costs, and compliance metrics.
  • Provide administrative support for fleet procurement and disposal processes.
  • Liaise with internal departments and external stakeholders regarding fleet-related inquiries.
  • Support the implementation of fleet management software and systems.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within fleet administration.

Required Skills

  • Proven administrative experience, preferably in a fleet or logistics environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience working with government contracts or within the public sector.
  • Familiarity with fleet management software (e.g., MEX, SAP).
  • Understanding of vehicle maintenance cycles and regulatory requirements.
  • Tertiary qualification in Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field.
