Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Floor Coverer to join our dynamic team, specializing in commercial projects. This role demands a professional with a proven track record in installing various types of flooring materials in commercial settings, including offices, retail spaces, healthcare facilities, and educational institutions. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing subfloors, accurately cutting and fitting materials, and ensuring a high-quality finish that meets both client specifications and industry standards. Key Responsibilities

• Prepare subfloors by cleaning, leveling, and repairing surfaces to ensure optimal installation.
• Install a wide range of flooring materials including carpet, vinyl, laminate, timber, and hybrid flooring in commercial environments.
• Measure and cut flooring materials precisely to fit room dimensions, angles, and unique architectural features.
• Apply adhesives, sealants, and finishes according to manufacturer specifications and project requirements.
• Work efficiently and collaboratively with project managers, other trades, and clients to meet deadlines.
• Ensure all installations adhere to safety regulations and quality control standards.
• Maintain tools and equipment in excellent working condition and ensure a tidy worksite.
• Provide expert advice on flooring types, maintenance, and durability to clients when required.

Required Skills

• Minimum 3 years of proven experience in commercial floor covering.
• Proficiency in installing various flooring materials (carpet, vinyl, laminate, timber, hybrid).
• Strong understanding of subfloor preparation techniques.
• Excellent measuring, cutting, and fitting skills.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality workmanship.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• White Card (Construction Induction Card) for working on commercial sites in Australia.

Preferred Qualifications

• Relevant trade qualification or apprenticeship completion in Floor Covering.
• Experience with specialized commercial flooring systems (e.g., anti-static, safety flooring).
• First Aid certification.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and adaptability to site challenges.
