Job Description
A role designed for a driven individual keen to start a career in financial data and investment analytics. This junior position offers comprehensive training and mentorship to develop expertise in handling, processing, and analyzing financial data to support investment strategies within a leading global financial institution. You will gain hands-on experience with industry-standard tools and methodologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in collecting, validating, and maintaining financial market data from various internal and external sources.
- Learn to effectively use data analysis tools and software, including advanced Excel functions, under the guidance of senior analysts.
- Support senior analysts in preparing clean and accurate data for financial models, reports, and presentations.
- Contribute to data quality assurance and integrity initiatives, identifying and resolving discrepancies.
- Actively participate in training sessions and workshops to build a strong understanding of investment analytics concepts, methodologies, and market drivers.
- Collaborate closely with team members and other departments to ensure timely and accurate data delivery for strategic decision-making.
Required Skills
- Strong numerical and analytical aptitude, with a keen eye for detail.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data manipulation).
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in all tasks.
- High capacity to learn quickly and adapt to new technologies and financial concepts.
- Basic understanding of financial markets, investment principles, or economics.
- Strong communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills for effective teamwork.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a closely related quantitative field (or currently pursuing final year).
- Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) or programming languages (e.g., Python, R) would be a significant advantage.
- Previous internship, academic project, or relevant extracurricular experience in data analysis or financial services.
