Job Description

Join Barwon Health’s dynamic Industrial Relations team as a Fair Work Admin Support professional. This crucial role provides essential administrative and operational support to our Industrial Relations specialists, ensuring compliance with the Fair Work Act and relevant awards/agreements. You will play a vital part in maintaining accurate records, coordinating communication, and assisting with case management processes, contributing to a fair and productive workplace for all our employees.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive administrative support to the Industrial Relations team, including scheduling meetings, managing correspondence, and preparing documents.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records related to industrial matters, employee grievances, and performance management.
  • Assist in the preparation of reports, presentations, and other materials for internal stakeholders and external bodies.
  • Coordinate communication between IR specialists, employees, and relevant internal departments or external agencies.
  • Support the research and interpretation of industrial awards, enterprise agreements, and relevant legislation, particularly the Fair Work Act.
  • Assist with the initial intake and tracking of industrial relations queries and disputes.
  • Manage and update IR team's shared drives and databases, ensuring data integrity and accessibility.

Required Skills

  • Proven administrative support experience, preferably within a corporate or HR environment.
  • Strong organisational skills with meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Basic understanding of Australian employment law and industrial relations principles, especially the Fair Work Act.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A diploma or certificate in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Prior experience working in an Industrial Relations or Human Resources department.
  • Familiarity with HRIS systems and case management software.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply industrial instruments (awards, agreements).
