Job Description

Join the Fulton Hogan team as an Excavator Spotter in Taree, NSW. This entry-level role is crucial for maintaining a safe work environment on our construction sites. We are looking for highly vigilant and safety-conscious individuals who are eager to learn and grow within the civil construction industry. Full training will be provided, making this an excellent opportunity for those new to the field or looking to transition into a vital safety-oriented position. You will work closely with our experienced operators, ensuring clear communication and hazard awareness to prevent incidents.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a critical set of eyes and ears for excavator operators, providing clear and precise directions.
  • Maintain constant visual contact with moving machinery and personnel within the work zone.
  • Identify and communicate potential hazards, obstructions, and unsafe conditions to operators and supervisors.
  • Ensure pedestrian and vehicle traffic are kept at a safe distance from active excavation areas.
  • Assist with pre-start checks and daily safety briefings.
  • Adhere strictly to all company safety policies, procedures, and site-specific safety plans.
  • Participate actively in site safety meetings and contribute to a proactive safety culture.
  • Report any incidents, near misses, or safety concerns immediately to supervision.

  • Current Construction Induction Card (White Card) – mandatory for site access (can be obtained prior to start).
