Job Description

Downer Group is seeking an enthusiastic and vigilant individual to join our team as an Excavator Spotter in Broome, Western Australia. You will be responsible for providing crucial visual guidance to excavator operators, ensuring the safe movement of heavy machinery and protection of personnel on site. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide clear and constant visual guidance to excavator operators during all machine movements.
  • Maintain constant communication with operators using agreed signals and communication devices.
  • Monitor the immediate work area for personnel, obstacles, and potential hazards.
  • Assist in the safe positioning of excavators and other heavy machinery.
  • Ensure all site safety protocols and procedures are strictly followed.
  • Identify and report any unsafe conditions or practices immediately to supervisors.
  • Participate in daily toolbox talks and safety briefings.
  • Contribute to a positive safety culture on site.
  • Adhere to all company policies and WHS regulations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Construction Induction Card (White Card)
  • Previous experience in a similar outdoor or industrial environment (not mandatory, training provided)
  • First Aid certification
