Job Description

Are you looking for meaningful part-time work in a supportive and friendly environment? Lifeline Australia in Mount Isa is seeking dedicated and enthusiastic individuals to join our team as a Donation Sorter. This is an entry-level position that offers easy, hands-on work in a clean charity warehouse. You will play a vital role in processing generous donations, ensuring quality items are prepared for sale in our Lifeline Shops, which directly fund our crisis support and suicide prevention services. Key Responsibilities

  • Receive, sort, and organize incoming donations of clothing, household items, books, and other goods.
  • Inspect donated items for quality, cleanliness, and suitability for resale.
  • Categorize and tag items accurately for pricing and display.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment within the warehouse.
  • Assist with moving and lifting boxes or bags of donations (within reasonable limits).
  • Adhere to all health and safety guidelines and company policies.
  • Work collaboratively with other team members and volunteers.

Required Skills

  • Ability to perform light physical tasks, including standing, bending, and lifting (up to 10-15kg).
  • Attention to detail and ability to identify quality items.
  • Reliable and punctual.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a retail, warehouse, or charity environment.
  • Basic knowledge of different types of clothing, household goods, or books.
