Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Diversity and Inclusion Officer to join our corporate team. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in developing, implementing, and monitoring D&I initiatives across our organization, with a focus on our corporate functions. You will work closely with HR, leadership, and employee resource groups to embed D&I principles into our culture, policies, and practices. This role is crucial for fostering an inclusive environment where all employees can thrive and contribute to our shared success.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and evaluate comprehensive D&I strategies and programs aligned with Westpac's corporate objectives.
- Advise leadership and HR on best practices for D&I, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and internal policies.
- Facilitate and deliver D&I training and workshops for employees and managers.
- Partner with employee resource groups (ERGs) to support their initiatives and maximize their impact.
- Collect, analyze, and report on D&I metrics to identify trends, measure progress, and inform future strategies.
- Support the development of inclusive recruitment, retention, and promotion practices.
- Stay informed about D&I trends and legislation to ensure our programs remain current and effective.
- Champion an inclusive culture through internal communications and awareness campaigns.
Required Skills
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a dedicated Diversity & Inclusion role or similar HR function.
- Demonstrated understanding of D&I principles, best practices, and relevant legislation (e.g., Australian anti-discrimination laws).
- Proven ability to develop and implement D&I programs and initiatives.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and generate actionable insights.
- Ability to influence and collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Social Sciences, Business Administration, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in a relevant field.
- Experience working within the financial services industry.
- Certification in Diversity & Inclusion or Change Management.
- Experience in project management and change leadership within a corporate environment.
