Job Description
We are seeking an analytical and detail-oriented Demand Planner to join our fast-paced FMCG team in Belconnen, ACT. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for forecasting product demand, optimizing inventory levels, and ensuring product availability to meet customer needs. You will collaborate closely with sales, marketing, and supply chain teams to drive efficient operations and contribute to our commercial success. Key Responsibilities
- Develop accurate demand forecasts using historical data, market intelligence, and statistical modeling techniques.
- Collaborate with sales, marketing, and product development teams to gather market insights and incorporate promotional activities into forecasts.
- Monitor and report on forecast accuracy, identifying root causes for variances and implementing corrective actions.
- Manage inventory levels to balance service targets with working capital objectives, recommending adjustments as needed.
- Facilitate S&OP (Sales & Operations Planning) meetings, preparing relevant data and insights.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement within the demand planning function.
- Work closely with supply chain and production teams to ensure timely product availability and minimize out-of-stocks.
- Analyse market trends, customer behaviour, and competitive activities to refine forecasting models.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in demand planning or a similar supply chain role, preferably within the FMCG sector.
- Proficiency in advanced Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, complex formulas).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
- Demonstrated understanding of S&OP processes and principles.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Logistics, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with demand planning software (e.g., SAP APO, Anaplan, Oracle Demantra).
- Postgraduate qualification in Supply Chain or Business.
- Exposure to data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
- A continuous improvement mindset and experience with Lean or Six Sigma methodologies.
