Job Description

We are seeking a reliable and physically fit Event Bumping Assistant to join our Armidale team. This role is crucial for the successful execution of various cinema and special events, primarily involving the moving, setup, and packing down of theatre equipment during night hours. Key Responsibilities

  • Safely and efficiently move, load, and unload various theatre and event equipment, including screens, sound systems, staging, and props.
  • Assist technical staff with the setup and dismantling of event infrastructure according to specifications.
  • Work collaboratively with the event team to ensure timely completion of tasks.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and company guidelines during all operations.
  • Maintain a clean and organised work environment, ensuring equipment is stored correctly.
  • Perform routine checks on equipment for damage and report any issues promptly.
  • Be available for night shifts, weekend work, and varying event schedules as required.

Required Skills

  • Proven physical fitness and ability to lift heavy objects safely.
  • Reliability and strong work ethic, especially during night shifts.
  • Ability to follow instructions accurately and work effectively in a team.
  • Basic understanding of safety procedures in an event or theatre setting.
  • Excellent time management and punctuality.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in event setup, stagehand work, or manual labour roles.
  • Experience with AV equipment handling or basic technical understanding.
  • Valid Australian Driver's License.
  • Current First Aid certification.
