Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Migration Consultant to join our dynamic consulting team, specializing in large-scale enterprise projects. The successful candidate will play a critical role in designing, planning, and executing complex data migration strategies for our top-tier clients. This role demands a deep understanding of data architecture, ETL processes, and project management principles, ensuring the secure and accurate transfer of critical business data. You will be instrumental in guiding clients through every phase of their data transformation journey, from initial assessment to post-migration validation, upholding the highest standards of data integrity and system performance. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, design, and execution of complex data migration strategies for enterprise clients.
  • Conduct comprehensive data assessments, identify migration risks, and develop mitigation plans.
  • Design and implement robust ETL processes, ensuring data quality, accuracy, and integrity.
  • Collaborate closely with client stakeholders, technical teams, and project managers to define scope, requirements, and deliverables.
  • Perform data mapping, transformation, and loading activities across various source and target systems.
  • Develop and execute thorough testing plans, including unit, integration, and user acceptance testing for migrated data.
  • Provide expert guidance on best practices for data governance, data security, and compliance throughout the migration lifecycle.
  • Document all migration processes, procedures, and outcomes for future reference and auditability.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex data migration issues efficiently and effectively.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of data migration methodologies and tools.

Required Skills

  • Minimum 6 years of experience in data migration, ETL development, or data warehousing.
  • Proven expertise with various data migration tools and methodologies.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with relational databases (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL).
  • Experience with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS S3/Redshift, Azure Data Lake/Synapse, Google BigQuery) is highly desirable.
  • Solid understanding of data modeling, data architecture, and data governance principles.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
  • Experience managing enterprise-level data projects.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Certifications in relevant data platforms (e.g., AWS Certified Data Analytics, Azure Data Engineer Associate, Oracle Certified Professional).
  • Experience with specific ERP/CRM system migrations (e.g., SAP, Oracle EBS, Salesforce).
  • Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for data manipulation.
  • Project management certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2).
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
