Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Contract Administrator to join our dynamic team on a major Tier 1 construction project in Blacktown. This role is crucial in supporting the project delivery team by managing all contractual aspects, ensuring compliance, mitigating risks, and maintaining strong relationships with subcontractors and suppliers. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of construction contracts, excellent negotiation skills, and a meticulous approach to documentation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, review, and administer head contracts and subcontracts, ensuring alignment with project objectives and company policies.
  • Manage variations, claims, and extensions of time, negotiating fair and reasonable outcomes.
  • Oversee the procurement process, including tender analysis, contractor selection, and contract finalisation.
  • Maintain comprehensive and accurate contract documentation, records, and correspondence.
  • Facilitate communication and resolve contractual disputes between project stakeholders.
  • Monitor contract performance against key milestones and financial targets.
  • Provide contractual advice and support to the project management team.
  • Assist in project budgeting, cost control, and financial reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant legal, regulatory, and company standards.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Contract Administrator or similar role in Tier 1 construction.
  • Demonstrated understanding of Australian construction law and standard form contracts (e.g., AS 4000, AS 2124).
  • Proficiency in contract management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple contracts simultaneously and work under pressure.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Postgraduate qualification in law or commercial management.
  • Experience with large-scale commercial or infrastructure projects.
  • Membership with a relevant professional body (e.g., AIQS, RICS).
