Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and resilient Cold Storage Picker to join our fast-paced logistics team in Dandenong, Victoria. This role is crucial for ensuring the accurate and efficient handling of temperature-sensitive goods within our state-of-the-art cold storage facility. You will be responsible for picking, packing, and preparing orders while maintaining strict adherence to safety and quality standards in a sub-zero environment. Thermal gear will be provided to ensure your comfort and safety, and we offer premium pay for this essential role.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately pick and pack products from designated cold storage locations according to order sheets.
- Operate pallet jacks, forklifts, or other warehouse equipment safely and efficiently (if licensed).
- Perform quality checks on products and packaging to ensure goods meet required standards.
- Load and unload goods, ensuring correct stock rotation and placement.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment within the cold storage facility.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety procedures and food safety regulations.
- Report any equipment malfunctions, safety hazards, or product discrepancies to supervisors.
Required Skills
- Ability to work effectively in a cold storage environment (temperatures below 0°C).
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in order fulfillment.
- Physical stamina and ability to lift and move packages up to 20kg repeatedly.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Basic numeracy and literacy skills for reading order sheets and labels.
- Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to all health and safety guidelines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehousing or logistics environment, particularly cold storage.
- Current forklift license (LF or LO) or willingness to obtain one.
- Experience with inventory management systems or RF scanners.
