Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Clinical Nurse Consultant to join our dynamic team at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital. Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert clinical consultation and support to nursing staff, patients, and their families within a specified clinical area.
- Lead and participate in the development, implementation, and evaluation of clinical policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
- Act as a mentor and educator for nursing staff, promoting professional growth and continuous learning.
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives, audits, and research projects to enhance patient outcomes.
- Facilitate complex case management and provide advanced clinical problem-solving.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant professional, ethical, and legal standards of nursing practice.
- Participate in hospital-wide committees and projects as required.
Required Skills
- Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse.
- Extensive post-graduate experience in a relevant clinical specialty (minimum 5 years).
- Demonstrated advanced clinical assessment, reasoning, and problem-solving skills.
- Proven leadership and mentoring abilities.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Commitment to evidence-based practice and continuous professional development.
Preferred Qualifications
- Post-graduate qualification in nursing (e.g., Master of Nursing, Graduate Diploma in a specialty area).
- Experience in clinical education or staff development.

- Advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) certification.
