Job Description

Goodstart Early Learning is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to join our team as Childcare Trainees in Townsville. This is an incredible opportunity to earn while you learn, gaining practical experience and a nationally recognised qualification in early childhood education. No prior experience is required – we provide comprehensive study support and on-the-job training to help you thrive. You’ll work alongside experienced educators, contributing to a vibrant and nurturing learning environment for children aged 0-5 years. This full-time, on-site role is perfect for someone eager to start their career in a supportive and professional setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist lead educators in planning and implementing engaging educational programs.
- Supervise children during indoor and outdoor activities, ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Support children with daily routines, including meal times, rest periods, and personal hygiene.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and stimulating learning environment.
- Observe and record children's development and progress under guidance.
- Communicate effectively and positively with children, families, and team members.
- Actively participate in your formal studies, attending training sessions and completing coursework.
- Adhere to all centre policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Required Skills
- Genuine passion for working with children and fostering their development.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Reliable, punctual, and highly motivated.
- Willingness to learn and grow professionally.
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
- Must be eligible to undertake a traineeship in Australia.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior volunteer experience with children (e.g., babysitting, community groups).
- Current First Aid and CPR certificates (or willingness to obtain).
- Working with Children Check (Blue Card) (or willingness to obtain).
