Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Child Safety Support professional to join our Family Services Department in Carnarvon. In this vital role, you will provide essential support to child protection workers, families, and children involved with the department. Your work will directly contribute to the safety and well-being of vulnerable children, assisting with case management activities, administrative tasks, and direct engagement with families under supervision and guidance. Key Responsibilities
- Provide administrative and practical support to child protection caseworkers.
- Assist with file management, record keeping, and data entry related to client cases.
- Coordinate and attend appointments, meetings, and home visits with caseworkers, as required.
- Facilitate communication and engagement with families, children, and external service providers.
- Support the implementation of safety plans and family support strategies.
- Prepare reports, correspondence, and other documentation under supervision.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all departmental policies and procedures.
Required Skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities, with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in using office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently.
- Demonstrated empathy, resilience, and a non-judgmental approach.
- Understanding of cultural diversity and its impact on service delivery.
- Ability to manage sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant tertiary qualification (e.g., Diploma or Degree) in Community Services, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.
- Previous experience in a child safety, family support, or community services setting.
- Knowledge of child protection legislation and frameworks in Western Australia.
- Current Western Australian Driver's License.
- Current First Aid Certificate.
