Job Description
As an Optical Dispenser Intern at OPSM Fremantle, you will gain invaluable hands-on experience in a dynamic retail clinical environment. This internship offers a unique opportunity to learn the intricacies of optical dispensing, customer service, and eye care directly from experienced professionals. You will be supported through a structured training program designed to develop your skills in advising customers on frame and lens selection, performing precise measurements, understanding prescription requirements, and assisting with general store operations. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about healthcare, fashion, and providing exceptional customer experiences, looking to build a foundational career in the optical industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Shadow and assist qualified Optical Dispensers and Optometrists in daily operations.
- Learn to accurately interpret optical prescriptions and guide customers in selecting appropriate frames and lenses.
- Practice taking precise facial and frame measurements for optimal fit and comfort.
- Assist with frame adjustments and repairs under supervision.
- Engage with customers, providing information on product features, benefits, and promotions.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting store environment.
- Support inventory management, including receiving and stocking products.
- Learn about contact lens types and care, providing basic guidance to customers.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and ethical standards in patient care and retail practices.
