Job Description
Join the Australia Post team as a Casual Courier for day shifts in the heart of Launceston’s Central Business District (CBD). This is an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking flexible work and a chance to contribute to essential delivery services within our vibrant city. You will be responsible for timely and efficient collection and delivery of parcels and mail items, ensuring customer satisfaction and adherence to safety standards. We are looking for reliable, energetic individuals who enjoy being on the move and have a strong commitment to service excellence. While previous courier experience is a plus, it is not strictly required; we value a positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
Key Responsibilities
- Efficiently collect and deliver parcels, letters, and other mail items to designated addresses within the Launceston CBD.
- Adhere strictly to all road safety regulations and company driving policies.
- Maintain accurate delivery records and handle customer queries professionally.
- Ensure the security and safe handling of all items during transit.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding delivery progress and any issues.
- Represent Australia Post positively to customers and the community.
Required Skills
- Valid Australian Driver's License (Car/Motorbike as applicable for delivery vehicle)
- Clean driving record
- Ability to lift and carry parcels up to 20kg
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Reliable and punctual work ethic
- Ability to navigate effectively within a CBD environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a courier, delivery, or logistics role
- Familiarity with the Launceston CBD area
- Customer service experience
- Ability to use handheld delivery scanning devices
