Job Description

Are you a compassionate and empathetic individual looking for a rewarding role with flexible hours? Anglicare is seeking dedicated Casual Companions / Caregivers to provide essential support to our valued clients in the Wagga Wagga area. This role is perfect for those who want to make a genuine positive impact, offering companionship, personal care assistance, and practical help to enhance our clients’ quality of life. You’ll enjoy the flexibility to choose shifts that fit your lifestyle, working with local clients in their homes and communities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide companionship and engage clients in meaningful activities.
  • Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal care (e.g., showering, dressing) if required.
  • Support clients with light household tasks, meal preparation, and medication reminders.
  • Accompany clients to appointments, social outings, or for shopping.
  • Observe and report any changes in client condition or needs to the care coordinator.
  • Maintain clear and accurate records of services provided and client interactions.
  • Adhere to all Anglicare policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.

Required Skills

  • Demonstrated empathy, patience, and excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Reliable and punctual with a strong sense of responsibility.
  • Valid Australian Driver's License and access to a reliable vehicle.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certificate (or willingness to obtain).
  • Ability to pass a National Police Check and Working With Children Check (if applicable).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certificate III in Individual Support (Aged Care, Home and Community)
  • Previous experience in a caregiving, support worker, or companion role.
  • Knowledge of local community resources in Wagga Wagga.
