Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Canteen Assistant to join our team, serving nutritious and delicious meals within school and sports club settings in Bairnsdale. This role operates during day shifts, offering a great work-life balance. You will play a vital role in ensuring a smooth and efficient canteen operation, contributing to a positive experience for students, staff, and club members. Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation and cooking of a variety of menu items, following recipes and food safety standards.
- Serve meals and snacks to customers with a friendly and efficient manner.
- Operate point-of-sale systems, handle cash, and process payments accurately.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen, serving areas, and dining spaces.
- Restock fridges, shelves, and display units as required.
- Assist with inventory management, including receiving and storing deliveries.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including food handling and allergy awareness.
- Support the Canteen Manager with daily tasks and special events.
